1995 Web Survey Components Began Development
Our first survey software was developed with the use of a database on a PC where employee survey responses from paper surveys were manually entered so that an early version of a gap report could be generated. Once the reports were generated they were delivered to the managers of the employees at Guardian Industries’ Glass Plants. Soon after this first effort, we realized that our first database application could be more effective as an online application.
Over the next year, and with the partnership of Rhino Media, the first web native survey tools were developed. Many of the capabilities in the Perceptyx platform were the
early inspiration of tools that were developed prior to the first survey. Synergy, was an HR job posting system designed to enable HR professionals to communicate job opportunities throughout an organization to existing employees. Catalyst, was an early web shopping cart program. HTMLectomy, would strip out HTML code from text and was an early text analysis tool.
Today, Perceptyx has set a new standard for real-time data collection and reporting in large part, because of advantages gained from the development of these early applications. While not specifically designed with the intent of being used for employee engagement surveys, the applications each contributed to unique features of our current suite of tools used by customers everyday.
